HAS SOMEBODY DIED AGAIN?
Two evil parents kidnap their four small boys (and aging Weiner-Newfoundland mutt) and flee from the comforts of urban America to the alien French countryside.

They throw the kids into a village school that hasn’t seen Americans since the Liberation. But before long, the kids are striking, the dog is burying stale baguettes, and their once-recognizable American lifestyle is turned on its head.

Through it all, this coming-of-age story for a family of seven highlights what’s beautiful and enviable about French culture, even if at first glance it seems otherworldly.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
David Smurthwaite is the epitome of faking it until you make it. He spent the first 15 years of his career in advertising, working hard to convince the world to buy things they could usually live without.

That all changed when, in 2015, he and his wife decided to make a significant life change on behalf of their growing family and move to the French countryside.

David has been a top writer on Medium in Travel, Parenting, & Short Stories. He's a father of four rapidly-growing boys, husband to a near-perfect companion, and co-founder of MindTrip, a company dedicated to helping families pick up and have life-changing experiences around the world.

He's also still faking it, just so we're clear.
